Our Location and Facilities

The planned facility is in a naturally quiet environment in Upper Flagstone, insulated from city noises and pollution and surrounded by natural bush. This idyllic setting will be conducive to the well-being of long-term patients by providing a low stress healing environment. Just on the southern edge of Toowoomba, our location is a closer alternative for koalas in the Granite Belt, Darling Downs, and Toowoomba region, as well as stretching north of Toowoomba towards Esk

We already have several koala rehabilitation cages appropriate for all different stages of climbing abilities. Appropriate cages will be added for hospitalised patients, including long-term patients.

Feeding the Koalas

As one of the difficult obstacles facing koala carers is feeding proper leaf, we have also planted over 1000 eucalyptuses and related fodder trees to support their daily nutrition.

Koala rehabilitation is a complex and time-consuming endeavour. Specific needs of each stage of development and complex dietary requirements must be met.
